We're up! Yes, finally, after many hiatuses (hiati?), delays, projects, tests and exams, the Internet Creative Writing Archive is finally opening its doors. For those unfamiliar with its history, the idea for this website has been rotating in the back of my mind for at least the past two years. I had looked over people's webpages and saw that of the people who had created homepages, many would include a few of their creative works, be it rants, poetry, or short stories. Yet, I didn't see that many sites which gave writers a chance to "get published". The purpose of the Archive is to provide a resource for gathering the work of creative work on the Internet, as well as a place for writers to get together (albeit electronically) with other writers to discuss their craft.
Becoming a published author is quite the feat. But, with a site like the Creative Writing Archive, virtually anyone can have their work showcased here, and share their creative vison with the world.
The Internet Creative Writing Archive (ICWA) is governed by three policies:
The previous message forms the mandate of the ICWA. Now, having understood the purpose of the site, all that remains is to GET WRITING!!! (and SUBMIT your work!!)No judgements will be made based on the quality of your work; all pieces submitted will be posted on the page.
No censorship will be imposed (with the exception of work which portrays gratuious hatred towards a particular person, religion or ideology)
The subclause to this rule will only be acted upon if I receive direct complaints from others and feel they are valid; I will not remove anything on my own accord.
Participants in the ICWA should provide encouragement to their fellow authors, and constructive criticism to help them become better writers.
