"Conquering Life"
a poem by Martin Bruyere
Children playing in the streets,
Parents playing in the bedroom,
This is how the world turns,
Creation at it's finest.
Childhood, a short phase,
Adolesence, world war 3.
Life is nothing but a long stuggle
to better yourself.
Did you achieve your goals?
Is there ever a goal to be happy with?
Adulthood, where the hair is lost,
and the money is made.
Continuing the life cycle
now invites more pressure,
Nothing is to be taken for granted
in this world without sympathy,
Will you live to see tomorrow?
Finally as you reach the downhill,
the race to the bottom begins,
Will you reach it soon?
Who will recieve what I've worked for?
My whole life given away in a flash.
As death looks me in the eye,
I smile gently,
and kiss this difficult world goodbye...
