"Life"
a poem by Heather-Ann Cozen
life - this beautiful symphony of comedy and tragedy
never ceases to confuse me. one moment,
i am a fluffy white cloud, imaginary, ever changing,
moving with the wind, feeling a breeze upon my softness,
praising the sun and drinking the sky.the next i am an oxen, weighed down by heavy baggage,
my back breaking with the fullness of life,
with its apprehensions and complexities.
how do i run madly from one extreme to the other,
from floating steadily on the wind
to carrying the weight of a million men upon my fraglie shoulders?
