"Longing"
a poem by Heather-Ann Cozen
Long for that chase
To fill your soul with lust.
Wanting the sound of their name
To spark fireworks in your eyes.
Knowing that words speak far louder then actions
But wishing he would take action soon.
Looking inside and finding no answers.
Looking outside and finding no clues.
Blind to all others but yourself and them.
Painting your face in bright colors hoping they'll notice.
Speaking every word you've ever learned.
Showing your true essence, exposing it's beauty.
Talking to hear yourself speak
Hoping they enjoy it as much as you do.
Loosing your boundary lines
Not knowing when you step over them.
Opening your eyes to reality but never
Closing them to possibility.
Feeling beautiful by yourself
Smiling in the mirror at your foolishness.
Learning to love the quiet
Waiting for their voice to break the silence.
Getting what you want
Praying it won't change what you have.
Sleeping and forgetting it all
And remembering the next afternoon.
Wondering how long you can feel this good
Without loosing this lovely young lad.
